Esbjerg d. 2/4 2016

ARK Misfits visited Esbjerg for the first clash of the season. The weather was perfect for rugby “Not to cold and not to warm” the South African ref. said. The three teams Esbjerg/Lindø, Holstebro/Aalborg and Misfits played each other in three spectacular 40 minute matches!
With Holstebro/Aalborg leaving as the victorious with two wins. Misfits lost their first game after fighting hard against Holstebro.
In the last game against Esbjerg/Lindø, Mistfits played simple but effective rugby. Not many minutes after the whistle the first try was scored. The forwards put an enormous amount of pressure on the Esbjerg/Lindø pack leaving loads of room for Asbjørn and Niels to score multiple stunning tries. Winning the last game allowed the Misfits team to enjoy the beer provided by the Esbjerg/lindø team who had a 30th anniversary. The men of the match appointed by each of the three teams where Rene who has had some practice in downing a beer in two seconds since he started at ARK, Tom who played at a high intensity for over 60 minutes playing a crucial role in the domination in the front row against Esbjerg/Lindø and finally Michael Wells who made life miserable for the opponents.
All in all the Misfits have had an awesome season opening and 2. Division has started great with three teams of 17+ players it looks promising for the rest of the season.

Aalborg d. 16/4 2016

For the second game of the season 17 brave men from Aarhus and Grenaa travelled to Aalborg to play against the North (Aalborg/Holstebro). The weather was harsh as it is in the North – winter is coming they say. In the First half the North beat East by 49 points to zero. Although East put up a fight the northerners were just too fast, too strong and too intent on winning. It looked like a thrashing of a millennium. However, in the second half much needed reinforcements from south came in, letting some of the badly bruised players of the east retreat. The mixed team from south and east united and prevented any tries from being scored in the second half leading to the final score of 49-0. The man of the match was Anders Ankerstjerne who came into the game with speed, timing and great decision making. The game this weekend showed that Holstebro/Aalborg is the team to beat in the second division. Hopefully, the team from the east will do that sooner rather than later.
